Dr. Allen is dedicated to offering thorough, state-of-the art, compassionate treatment with the least-invasive and most promising solutions available.

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders and conditions; this includes diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles. Dr. Allen practices as a general neurologist to both adult and pediatric patients. He specializes in treating the following:

Dr. Allen majored in Psychology, with a minor in Music, at Colorado State University where he graduated with High Distinction, Honors, and Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his MD, with Honors, from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1993.

After medical school, Dr. Allen continued his education at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Colorado completing an internship in internal medicine followed by residency in Neurology, with the added distinction of serving as Chief Resident.

Dr. Allen is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and is licensed to practice in Colorado and Wyoming.

Dr. Allen acts as a preceptor to medical students and Resident Physicians as a clinical professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He has also served as the Medical Director for Aging Center of the Rockies.

He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the American Medical Association (AMA), and both the Colorado and Larimer County Medical Societies. Furthermore, he has received a multitude of honors and awards for outstanding achievement in both education and as a physician.

A native of Fort Collins, Dr. Allen and his wife have two children and two large dogs. He has a passion for music, and is currently a vocalist for a local rock group. Dr. Allen also enjoys all things to do with the outdoors.
